The 57-year-old’s health scare from an ulcer flare-up mid-flight in May however meant that the fight will be delayed until later this year November, but Paul spent no time at all finding himself a new opponent ahead of his 11th professional bout.
Since his split decision loss to British boxer, and former World Champion Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy Fury back in February last year, he’s gone on to beat Nate Diaz, Andre August and stopped Ryan Bourland inside the first round in March in his previous fight. But he will face a new challenge in the form of Perry, who since his UFC days has turned to bare-knuckle boxing.
Perry has had five Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship fights, winning all five including beating Thiago Alves in the main event of BKFC Knucklemania IV inside a round, but his only previous professional boxing bout ended in defeat to Kenneth McNeil in 2015.
However, before leaving UFC, he lost seven of his final ten fights meaning he’ll have to step up to the plate if he wants to deliver an upset to Paul on Saturday night.
