Kim Kardashian and Kanye West might be divorced, but she still keeps up a Christmas tradition with their children that the rapper started
Though Kim Kardashian and Kanye West aren’t married anymore, she still keeps up Christmas traditions for their kids.
The SKIMS founder and rapper were married from 2014 to 2022. They share four children – North, 11, Saint, nine, Chicago, six, and Psalm, five.
This year, Kim kept up the tradition of hiring Philip Cornish, Kanye’s Sunday Service musical director, to wake her children up during the Christmas season. Phillip plays the piano in their living room “every single morning” to wake the kids up “peacefully.”
Kanye first started the tradition of Phillip playing the piano for his children, as Phillip has been the musical director for his Sunday Service since 2019.

“Kanye and Philip have been good friends and collaborators for years,” the Sun reported. “It was all Kanye’s idea to bring him into the house.”
The musician created the tradition to add some holiday magic into his kids’ lives. Kim wasn’t on board at first, but now everyone seems to look forward to the musical mornings, even Phillip.
“Philip would do it for free and even tells Kim that but he does get paid. Rather than per day, it’s a lump sum – which at this point is now well into the six figures,” the Sun claimed. “He will also get holiday gifts and food from the family’s chef, which is the full VIP Kardashian treatment.”
Kim has previously posted about Phillip’s routine, sharing a video of the musician playing the piano. “It’s that time of the year!!!” she wrote.
