After nine films over sixteen years, Hugh Jackman is at peace with giving up his role as Wolverine.

On Thursday, the 48-year-old revealed in a candid interview with Entertainment Tonight that he ‘put everything’ into upcoming film Logan, jokingly admitting there was at least one actor he wouldn’t want to see play the iconic character.

Anyone but him: In a candid interview, Hugh Jackman revealed he was happy for another actor to take over as Wolverine after he left the role, before admitting there was one actor he didn’t want to replace him
After previously announcing that Logan would be his final Wolverine film, Hugh spoke positively about the idea of another actor jumping into the role he’s played since the turn of the century.
‘The character will go on. Someone else will play it, for sure. (I’m fine with it),’ he told interviewers.
The hunky Australian actor then appeared to have a sudden moment of uncertainty, adding: ‘unless Daniel Day-Lewis plays him and wins the Oscar, then I might have a little problem.’
Spoken in a playful tone, his apparent joke went over well, but there’s no doubt leaving the role he’s played for so long won’t be as easy as simply walking away.
