Jelly Roll and Snoop Dogg surprise Nashville fans with a duet on a new song inspired by Tom Petty that ends with a classic Snoop touch

Jelly Roll makes no bones about his cannabis use. The “Son of a Sinner” hitmaker has spoken openly about using marijuana to maintain his sobriety from hard drugs. He has also shared his “dream blunt rotation,” which naturally includes ganja connoisseur Snoop Dogg. During Tuesday’s (Nov. 26) show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, the Grammy nominee partially fulfilled that dream when he and Snoop shared both a stage and a blunt.

Snoop Dogg Premieres New Song With Jelly Roll

Jelly Roll wrapped up a highly successful Beautifully Broken Tour with a homecoming of sorts. The “Save Me” singer pulled out all the stops during Tuesday’s (Nov. 26) show at Bridgestone Arena, bringing out everyone from Keith Urban to Morgan Wallen.

Jelly temporarily returned to his rap roots, performing a medley of his favorite hip-hop songs. He then paused, telling the crowd that he couldn’t keep performing solo “when my friend Snoop Dogg is in the building!”

The West Coast legend ambled onstage to thunderous applause, immediately serenading the crowd with his quintessential Dr. Dre collab “The Next Episode.”

And speaking of the D-R-E… “I don’t want to put you on the spot, but I know that you’ve got an album coming out real soon that was produced by the legendary Dr. Dre,” Jelly said.

He continued, “What I’m not sure that these people know, is that you gave me the honor of being a feature on that album… Snoop Dogg, I know this is a lot to ask of you, but can we debut our song here in my hometown right now?”

In response, Snoop turned to the audience. “Nashville, can we debut this song right about now?” the “Gin and Juice” rapper asked.

The duo then launched into a rendition of their brand-new track, “Last Dance With Mary Jane.” Paying homage to the 1993 Tom Petty classic, Snoop rapped about his undying love for cannabis. Jelly Roll chimed in on the iconic chorus.

“Last Dance With Mary Jane” appears on Snoop’s upcoming album, Missionary, out Dec. 13.

Did They Really Light a Joint?

In true Snoop Dogg fashion, the award-winning rapper sparked a blunt immediately after the performance.

“Oh, he’s lighting a fresh one,” Jelly Roll said, as Snoop passed him the joint.
