Kelly Ripa shades Ryan Seacrest after his ‘Wheel of Fortune’ flub: ‘Have you learned how to spell?’
Kelly Ripa spun some shade in Ryan Seacrest’s direction.
Ripa, 54, reunited with her former “Live!” co-host and poked fun at him after he made his first official flub as host of “Wheel of Fortune.”
“So, tell me about ‘Wheel of Fortune’ now. Have you learned how to spell?” Ripa jokingly said to Seacrest, 49, who returned to the show on Monday with his sister, Meredith Seacrest Leach, to promote their new children’s book.

Seacrest said that he still “do[es]n’t text well,” adding, “She [Ripa] knows that. But on the puzzles I’m okay. I kind of know where we’re going with the puzzles.”
“Cause you have the answer in front of you, don’t you?” Ripa asked.
“Either in my head or in front of me. I mean, it’s somewhere,” Seacrest replied.

Seacrest co-hosted “Live!” with Ripa from 2017 to 2023. He was replaced by Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, and the show was rebranded “Live with Kelly and Mark.”
Last year, it was announced Seacrest was taking over Pat Sajak’s job as host of “Wheel of Fortune.” Seacrest made his hosting debut on the game show on Sept. 9.

Three days before his interview with Ripa, Seacrest made his first official blunder on “Wheel of Fortune.”
During Friday’s episode, the multihyphenate star awkwardly paused for a long time after contestant Cody Hunger correctly guessed a letter puzzle that spelt “out of the way.”
Luckily, Vanna White felt the tension and give a small stifled clap, signaling to Seacrest and Hunger that the puzzle was completed.

“Cody? That’s it!” Seacrest finally said to Hunger.
Seacrest’s blunder didn’t go unnoticed by fans. There was even a Reddit thread titled, “How about that pause,” that was created to discuss the on-screen moment.
However, Seacrest seemed unbothered by the incident during his “Live!” interview. He even opened up about his “favorite part” of hosting the long-running game show.
“The show means so much to so many people. They grew up with it. Their grandma watched it, their parents loved it, they watched it together as a family, and it really has that specialness to it. So meeting everybody, giving away the cash and prizes, even more fun than I thought,” he said.

Seacrest also joked that the contestants are more excited to see White, 67, than him.
“They’re like, ‘Hi, Vanna! Ryan, we see you everywhere,’” he said.
