After Cassie Ventura’s lawsuit against Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs was settled out of court within a day, both parties went quiet on the matter, omitting details of their agreement.

However, after the rapper was arrested over a federal indictment, details in regards to the terms of their settlement were revealed in court documents. A grand jury charged Diddy with, among other things, sex trafficking and the indictment pointed towards a leaked video of Cassie being beat by the music mogul in a hotel hallway.

Diddy’s defense attorney alleged that the video was unlawfully leaked to the press but doesn’t blame Cassie for doing so. They point toward the settlement agreement as part of their rationale, including her hefty “eight-figure settlement.”
According to a court document, the defense claim that Cassie, referred to as Victim 1, did not have the video in her possession at the time that she filed her civil lawsuit in late 2023. They wrote: “Had either Victim 1 or her lawyer had the tape, the allegations in the civil complaint would have been entirely different and far more specific than they were.”

Previously, an attorney for Diddy, Ben Brafman, alleged Cassie attempted to blackmail Diddy for $30 million, but Diddy countered with “eight-figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit.” Nonetheless, Cassie persisted with the court filing where she accused the Bad Boy owner of sex trafficking, battery, sexual battery, sexual harassment, and more.

“After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships,” Ventura had said in a statement at the time. “With the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life.”

When the lawsuit was quickly settled, Brafman said in a statement: “Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing. Mr. Combs’ decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best.”

The latest court documents confirmed that Cassie accepted eight figures after she filed her lawsuit. However, it did not indicate the precise number or if the agreed check matched Diddy’s alleged original offer.

Diddy continues to deny all allegations of wrongdoing against him, but took “responsibility” for his actions seen in the leaked video.
