In 2017, Hugh confirmed Logan would be his last outing in the role, telling the The New York Times: ‘Someone else will play [Wolverine] for sure.’

The actor starred as Wolverine in the first X-Men film and reprised the role in eight more movies, including sequels and an X-Men Origins spin-off series focusing on the character.

It has also been reported that Ben Affleck is also set to step down from his role as caped crusader Batman.

According to Forbes, the actor is unlikely to portray Bruce Wayne in any future films on the character, as the upcoming movie, The Batman, will focus on the hero’s younger days.
