P Diddy is facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution and his attorneys have asked a judge to identify the accusers

Attorneys for Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs have asked a judge to release the names of his accusers as the rapper faces sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

P Diddy’s legal team argued they need to know the identities so they can prepare for his upcoming federal trial in a letter to judge Arun Subramanian which was filed on Tuesday. Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

He is facing federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. Diddy has vehemently denied the allegations and pled not guilty in court.

“This case is unique, in part because of the number of individuals levying allegations against Mr Combs due to his celebrity status,” Combs’ legal team argued. They also pointed to the music mogul’s wealth and the extensive media coverage of other legal proceedings against him

The letter continued: “This has had a pervasive ripple effect, resulting in a torrent of allegations by unidentified complainants, spanning from the false to outright absurd.” Diddy’s legal team also pointed to the six new civil lawsuits against him.

The new lawsuits filed against P Diddy come from six unnamed complaints, including four men and two women. The alleged incidents, which include allegations of rape, sexual abuse and sexual assault, are said to have taken place from 1995 to 2021. These six accusers are the first of the 120 alleged victims with claims against Diddy.

Combs’ attorney’s continued: “These accusations came on the heels of more than a dozen lawsuits previously filed and currently pending, several of which have already been discredited but only after irreparably damaging Mr Combs’ character and reputation. These swirling allegations have created a hysterical media circus that, if left unchecked, will irreparably deprive Mr Combs of a fair trial, if they haven’t already.”

Diddy’s trial date has been set for May 5, 2025. A pre-trial hearing was held last Thursday to address accusations from Diddy’s defense team that the government had leaked the infamous Cassie Ventura video, which shows Combs assaulting a woman in a hotel before dragging them by their hair. The Daily Mail reports prosecutors dismissing these claims as “baseless” and denied the defense’s claims that the case against Diddy is racially motivated.

Diddy has been denied bail and so will remain in prison until his trial. Prosecutors predict that Diddy’s trial could last approximately three weeks.

As the rapper awaits trial, he is facing fresh legal trouble after being accused of rape, sexual abuse and sexual assault in six new civil lawsuits. Combs’ attorneys have slammed the civil lawsuits.

They told The Mirror US in a statement: “The press conference and 1-800 number that preceded today’s barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity. Mr. Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defenses, and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman.”
