Tommy Fury has called for a rematch with Jake Paul and claimed he could beat his rival ‘one hand’.
Fury last year became the first to defeat Paul in the ring following his split-decision victory in Saudi Arabia. The YouTube star floored the 24-year-old in the eighth round with a jab but was outpointed over the distance.
Two of the three judges ruled the contest 76-73 in Fury’s favour, while a third gave it to Paul by a margin of 75-74. And the 2019 Love Island star is not satisfied with his points win and wants to leave his rival out for the count this time around.
“I only mention him when he mentions me,” he told The Stomping Ground. “He mentions me all the time, I just don’t think he can accept it but he did get beat fair and square everybody’s seen that.
“But I do want to fight him again because I want to get the job done properly and give everybody what they want to see, Jake Paul on the canvas this time not getting up. I think that’s what everybody wants to see now.”
Paul has been campaigning for a rematch ever since but claimed last week, ahead of the announcement that he would be fighting Mike Tyson, that Fury has priced himself out of the fight.
He said: “We all know everyone tries to price themselves out if they don’t really want to fight and hide behind that. I’m on a different mission to become world champion.
“All doors for Tommy lead to me. I can do whatever I want. You think there’s more money? Cool, bring it to the table. Oh, you can’t? You haven’t brought anything to the table, please shut the f*** up then.”
While Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarain said: “He’s willing to fight him in boxing and if Jake wins, he’s willing to enter the SmartCage in the PFL with Tommy. There’s a path there where it’s $20million in guaranteed money.”
