Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teamed up on Wednesday to co-host Jimmy Kimmel Live while promoting their new movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
The 47-year-old Canadian actor and Australian actor Hugh, 55, took turns poking fun of each other while hosting the ABC talk show while Kimmel, 56, is on summer break.
Ryan at one point was solo behind the desk and interviewed his good friend Hugh.
‘I did want to discuss one thing. A few years ago, you lost your father. And you said that afterwards you had some really intense revelations and things that you discovered about yourself. One thing in particular, I’m just wondering if you would use this moment to share?’ Ryan said.
‘Okay. I didn’t know we were going there. It was a really difficult time. It was during COVID. So my father passed away in Australia and I managed to get back there, it wasn’t easy. And I was there, I was there at the end and I’ll just never forget that moment and what he said to me,’ Hugh said.

Ryan’s cellphone then started ringing and he apologized while explaining that his wife Blake Lively, 36, was calling him.
‘So sorry. One second. It’s Blake, it’s Blake,’ Ryan said to cheers from the studio audience in Hollywood.
Ryan explained that they promised each other they would always answer when called as he greeted his wife.
‘Hi, baby,’ Blake said.
‘Hi,’ Ryan replied.
‘Is now an okay time?,’ Blake asked.
‘No, no, no, it’s fine, we’re at Kimmel. We’re just rehearsing, it’s rehearsal,’ Ryan said as the audience laughed.
‘I love you so much. I’m just bored,’ Blake said.

He showed his phone to the audience and Blake waved to everyone.
‘Alec is here. Alec is the stage manager. He’s British and he looks so really upset right now. So, I’m just going to get off the phone,’ Ryan said as he ended their call.
‘You were saying?,’ Ryan then asked Hugh.
Hugh looked at Ryan and just shook his head silently as the audience chortled.
‘Okay, we actually do have an exclusive clip. Maybe we roll that right now?,’ Ryan said.
‘I don’t know where I am. I don’t know anything,’ Hugh said as the audience laughed.

Hugh and Ryan later interviewed their Wolverine & Deadpool co-star Emma Corrin, 28.
Emma teased her co-stars by revealing they’ve been getting asked a lot recently about what’s the best advice Hugh and Ryan have given.
‘I actually can’t remember any,’ Emma said causing them both to laugh.
‘Other than you guys getting really excited when I was about to shave my head, and you both said almost in unison, “You’ve got to take a shower”,’ Emma revealed.
‘But we didn’t mean it like that,’ Ryan quipped. ‘When you shave your head and have a shower. Amazing, it feels so nice.’
‘It’s a full religious experience,’ Emma agreed.
Emma portrays supervillain Cassandra Nova opposite Ryan as Deadpool and Hugh as Wolverine. The Cassandra character from Marvel Comics will make her live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Deadpool & Wolverine.
