Jennifer Lopez, Maria Sharipova and Kourtney Kardashian’s pieces are among other engagement rings Ingle & Rhode believes it has recreated

Celebrity engagement rings – from those owned by Kourtney Kardashian to Kate Middleton and Jennifer Lopez – and their enormous price tags frequently make the headlines.

Most recently, Lindsay Lohan announced her engagement to Bader Shammas with a custom-made Harry Winston square-cut diamond piece worth approximately $200,000 (£149,000) according to some estimates.

While most people do not have the funds to shell out quite such an extortionate amount on a ring, ethical UK jeweller Ingle & Rhode is claiming to be able to replicate celebrity engagement ring looks at a fraction of the cost.

The company has analysed the engagement rings of five famous stars and outlined how consumers can match them.

Tim Ingle, from Ingle & Rhode, said: “Celebrity engagements can inspire fans to try to copy the latest fashions and trends as closely as possible for their own proposals.

“Increasingly, the ethical nature of products is critical for consumers who want to know the journey their precious jewels have taken.

“We use the best materials – but crucially only those that can be traced back to source – such as certified Fairtrade gold, recycled platinum and conflict-free Canadian diamonds.

“It means people can get the look of the stars to suit their budget and which is guilt-free too.”

Ingle & Rhode’s gems are all mined, cut and polished by adults working with fair pay and conditions and produced with due care for the environment, it claims. It sources Canadian diamonds which are traceable back to their mine of origin.

The company believes its Vivace engagement ring – which features a central gem, flanked by micro-pave diamond shoulders, retailing at £1,495 and available in gold or platinum – is the perfect match for Lohan’s newsworthy one.

Meanwhile, Travis Barker presented Kourtney Kardashian with a flawless oval diamond ring designed by Lorraine Schwartz last year. Ingle & Rhode believes its La Boheme engagement ring imitates Kardashian’s piece.

Estimates for the original range from $850,000 to $1 million (£635,000 to £747,000), while Ingle & Rhode’s alternative is £1,395.

Elsewhere, the jeweller believes its La Stravaganza with Oval Sapphire ring recreates Kate Middleton’s ring, originally presented to Diana Spencer. It also has suggestions for recreating the looks of other celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Maria Sharapova.
