Lindsay Lohan wants the filming of Freakier Friday to go on and on and on.
The star of the much-anticipated sequel to the Disney aughts classic celebrated the last Monday of shooting, writing in an Instagram post featuring a couple of selfies that her “heart is so full.” She joined co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, who portrays her onscreen mom and shared warm memories of the final Friday of filming last week, in cherishing the nostalgia-filled moments.
“It’s been such a great time making this film,” the actress shared. “The wonderful cast, crew and everyone from @disneystudios have invested so much time and love into making this movie! Thank you to all of you! 🫶🙏”
Lohan, whose credits include a breadth of Disney favorites like The Parent Trap, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Herbie, also thanked director Nisha Ganatra (Late Night) for the pic’s “vision” and the rest of her team for their “commitment to this film and to me.”
Last month, Lohan said returning to the Disney lot after years of working with the studio as a child helped her reconnect to her past self. “When I got there, I kind of felt like this essence of a little kid again,” she told Nightline at the time.
Per previous reporting, Freakier Friday follows up the 2003 movie (itself a remake of the 1976 original, based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 book Freaky Friday) with an adult Anna (Lohan), who has a daughter and stepdaughter through a new marriage. Within the new family dynamic, a version of the body-swap chaos will ensue.
