Kim Kardashian has always been a savvy businesswoman, and this week, she proved it once again by drafting a contract for her son, Saint West, as he launched his own YouTube channel. The 43-year-old mother of four, who is also pursuing a career in law, included a unique “diva clause” aimed at safeguarding her daughter North West’s budding music career.
Saint, just eight years old, is an enthusiastic vlogger, but his mother made it clear that his new venture comes with strict rules, particularly when it comes to his older sister North, who is 11. According to the contract, Saint is “not allowed to film while” North is “recording music” for her much-anticipated debut album, Elementary School Dropout.
Kim shared the news on her Instagram Stories, where she has a staggering 480.9 million followers. “I finally allowed Saint to have a YouTube channel after signing an extensive contract! LOL! Please subscribe!” she wrote, humorously noting that Saint “better not breach” the terms.
The contract, which Kim shared a snippet of, detailed several rules for Saint to follow. “I, Saint West, agree to follow my mom’s rules in order to have a YouTube channel,” the contract begins. It goes on to specify that Saint must avoid filming or commenting on any personal family information and must get approval from his mother or guardian before posting any videos. Failure to comply could result in his channel being made private or deleted.
Kim has already begun promoting Saint’s channel, asking her followers to help him reach 100,000 subscribers on Monday. Although she later deleted those posts, they are still visible on her Facebook account.
Saint wasted no time in getting started, uploading four vlogs in the first 24 hours under the name “TheGoatSaint.” Three of these were Twitch-style first-person clips of him playing video games, while the fourth showed him enjoying a day at Dave & Buster’s with his friend, Zen. In one memorable moment, Saint exclaimed, “This is big! This is big!” after catching a 1,300-pound great white shark in the game Wicked Tuna. His enthusiasm continued as he celebrated winning 1,000 “Big Bass Bonus Tickets” on a Wheel of Fortune-style game, shouting, “Yes bro! Yes bro!”
Despite his excitement, Zen, who was filming, reminded Saint to “watch your words.” Saint’s reply? “Yeah! Gang gang!” His channel quickly gained traction, amassing 2,440 subscribers in no time.
Meanwhile, North West’s music career is beginning to take shape. The young star was recently featured on her father Kanye West’s song “Talking/Once Again,” where she delivered a catchy rap verse. She officially announced her debut album, Elementary School Dropout, at Kanye’s Vultures 2 listening party in Phoenix, Arizona, earlier this year. The album title pays homage to Kanye’s 2004 debut, The College Dropout, which was a commercial and critical success.
Kim Kardashian has been balancing her children’s ambitions with her own busy life. In a recent episode of The Kardashians, she opened up about the challenges of motherhood, describing how she often finds herself overwhelmed by her kids’ demands. “Sometimes it gets just a little intense,” she admitted, explaining that she struggles with being both the “good police officer and bad cop” in her household.
Despite these challenges, Kim continues to be a hands-on mother. In an emotional moment during an interview on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, she revealed that there are nights she cries herself to sleep, feeling overwhelmed by the “f***ing tornado” in her house.
Nevertheless, Kim remains committed to her family’s success. Hulu recently renewed The Kardashians for 20 more episodes, ensuring that the famous family will continue to share their lives with the world for seasons six and seven. The show has already garnered critical acclaim, winning Reality Show of the Year at the People’s Choice Awards and Best Docu-Reality Series at the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
As Saint embarks on his YouTube journey and North prepares to release her debut album, it’s clear that Kim Kardashian is guiding her children with both love and a strong sense of responsibility. The diva clause in Saint’s contract may seem strict, but it’s just another example of Kim’s dedication to helping her kids succeed—on their own terms and with their futures in mind.
