Beyoncé’s creative director was slammed by a congressman over an antisemitism post.

New York Congressman Ritchie Torres posted a picture of a screenshot on Instagram on Sunday, October 6. The screenshot was of a post Beyoncé’s creative director, Andrew Makadsi, posted of a man who setting his arm on fire at a protest in Washington, D.C.. Torres accused Makadsi of “glorifying violence” of an anti-Israel activist.

The caption read: “Andrew Makadsi, who is the creative director for Beyoncé, has previously called for ‘death’ to all Zionists (i.e. most Jews). On the eve of October 7th, Makadsi is glorifying the self-immolation of an Anti-Israel activist setting himself on fire. Any cultural influencer who glorifies violence and aestheticizes Antisemitism and AntiZionism has no business influencing any culture, let alone our own.”Not only did Torres slam Makadsi but so did the people in the comments. Many questioned if Beyoncé was going to say anything. one person wrote: “@beyonce what’s up with this????” Another person wrote: “no more @beyonce for me.” A third person wrote: “@Beyonce Do you support your employee in his antisemitism and glorification of suicide?” A fourth commented: “Waiting for @beyonce to make a statement…..”

Ritchie Torres posted Andrew’s antisemitism post
Torres made the post on the eve of October 7, a year since Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping 251. Iran recently attacked Israel, defending Hezbollah, after the groups leader was killed.

Back in July 2024, a X, formerly known as Twitter, account called @StopAntisemites posted a picture of Makadsi and showed a disturbing Instagram Story he posted, which disappeared after 24 hours. He called for “death to all zi0s and their followers.”

The @StopAntisemites post read: “Unsettling news coming from @Beyonce’s camp! Meet Andrew Makadsi, the Creative Director at Beyonce’s entertainment company -@parkwood Makadsi, originally from Lebanon, shares violent ideology against Jews and American leadership: – calls for the murder of all Zionists (95%+ of Jews globally) and their followers – wishes death upon members of Congress who met with PM Netanyahu – spreads Holocaust inversion to compare Netanyahu to Hitler.”

Beyoncé has yet to comment on the situation. The Mirror reached out to Beyonce’s team for comment.
