Ah, celebrity relationships, where privacy can feel like a distant dream. In this arena, Kanye West, now known as Ye, frequently stirs the pot and raises eyebrows. For instance, in an earlier episode of Candace Owens’ podcast, recorded in 2022, West’s remarks certainly stirred the waters. His bold suggestion that Beyoncé should let Jay-Z cheat has led many to wonder just how far is too far, even for him.

This comment follows the infamous cheating scandal that came to light in 2016, largely ignited by Beyoncé’s groundbreaking album Lemonade. While Jay-Z has openly addressed his transgressions, West’s unsolicited advice seems to traverse beyond conventional decorum.

Kanye West’s Unconventional Relationship Advice: A Disturbing Take on Jay-Z & Beyoncé

When it comes to relationship advice, we often look to trusted sources, but Kanye West’s remarks have left many bewildered. In a 2022 released interview, Ye made a shocking suggestion to Beyoncé regarding her husband, Jay-Z. Speaking to Candace Owens, he stated:

Beyoncé needs to let [Jay-Z] go get some p**sy.

This episode caught listeners off guard, including Owens, who could only laugh and ask, “What?” West continued:

Go to the DR [Dominican Republic] or something like that, you know what I mean?

This audacious suggestion comes in the wake of Jay-Z’s well-documented cheating scandal, which first came to light with Beyoncé’s 2016 album, Lemonade (see Style Caster). The record poignantly explored themes of infidelity, leading to Jay-Z’s own admission of infidelity on his 2017 album, 4:44.
West’s comments followed Jay-Z’s infidelity, first revealed in Beyoncé’s 2016 album, Lemonade and later confirmed in Jay-Z’s 2017 album 4:44.

Jay-Z even confessed to cheating on his wife during an interview with The New York Times:

So even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can’t connect…. In my case, like, it’s deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity. We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together. And then the music she was making at that time was further along.

Regardless, West’s uninvited advice raises eyebrows, especially given his history of controversial statements.

During the same interview with Owens, he defended previous antisemitic tweets, claiming he was under the influence of alcohol when he wrote them. This led to significant backlash, including being dropped by his lawyer (see NME) and talent agency.

Jay-Z’s Candid Conversation with David Letterman

Jay-Z once admitted to struggling with emotional expression and emphasized the importance of therapy in improving his marriage.

In the realm of celebrity interviews, authenticity often takes center stage, revealing not just the public personas but the personal struggles behind the fame. David Letterman’s discussion with Jay-Z on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction is a perfect example of this (via Washington Post). Right from the start, Letterman set a reflective tone, asking the audience, “We have here married people with families?” He then quipped:

Families, I think it’s safe to say, are pretty much trouble-free.

As the interview unfolded, Jay-Z was remarkably candid about his own experiences with family, touching on topics like infidelity, his mother’s coming out as a lesbian, and his estranged relationship with his father. Letterman carefully approached the sensitive issue of marital fidelity.

Speculation surrounding Jay-Z’s infidelity first made headlines in 2014, following an incident involving his sister-in-law Solange Knowles. The rumors intensified with the release of Beyoncé’s Lemonade in 2016, which featured poignant lines hinting at betrayal. Jay-Z eventually addressed these allegations in a November interview with The New York Times, admitting to the pain his actions caused.

Reflecting on the fear of damaging his family, Letterman asked Jay-Z if he could relate to the intense pressure of such situations. Jay-Z admitted he lacked the emotional tools necessary for a successful marriage.

For a lot of us, especially where I grew up and men in general, we don’t have emotional cues from when we were young. Our emotional cue is ‘Be a man. Don’t cry’.

The rapper emphasized the importance of therapy and Beyoncé’s support in his journey toward personal growth.

We did the hard work of going to therapy. We love each other, so we really put in the work for years.

In 2002, Beyoncé and Jay-Z teamed up for the track 03 Bonnie & Clyde, featured on his seventh album, The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse. In the music video, the former portrayed Jay-Z’s girlfriend, which sparked rumors about their romance. Then, on April 4, 2008, the couple tied the knot quietly, away from the media spotlight.
