Kim Porter set the internet ablaze after her alleged memoir was posthumously released on Amazon earlier this year, however, it was later removed from the online shopping platform

Kim and Diddy

Kim Porter’s best friend Lawanda Lane has spoken out about the confusion surrounding the alleged book the late model wrote about Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs.

Lane, who was best friends with Diddy’s ex-girlfriend for 30 years and lived with her for 20 years, has claimed that Kim never wrote a manuscript. Lane claimed she was with Porter every day and that the Three Brown Girls co-founder never wrote anything down.

In addition to that, she disclosed that the Combs family didn’t even know the latest witness in Diddy’s case, Courtney Burgess. This is despite Burgess claiming to be one of Kim’s former associates.

Last week Burgess testified before a grand jury in New York. He has claimed to possess the Bad Boy Records founder’s alleged sex tapes that capture celebrities getting wild at the music mogul’s parties.

Before Burgess surfaced, Kim set the internet ablaze after her alleged memoir was posthumously released on Amazon earlier this year. It was later removed from the online shopping platform after Kim and Diddy’s daughters Jessie and D’Lila Combs shot it down and raised questions about the memoir’s authenticity.

However, Burgess is claiming to have Porter’s manuscript. Lane is debunking Burgess’ claim as she revealed to TMZ that she was responsible for going through Kim’s belongings and giving them to her family and friends after she died in 2018.

Lane said she has not found a manuscript. On the other hand, Burgess’ attorney Ariel Mitchell divulged to the news outlet that Burgess had the manuscript on a flash drive, which has reportedly been given to federal investigators involved in Diddy’s case.

The Mirror US has reached out to Diddy’s attorneys and Burgess’ attorneys for comment. Diddy was arrested and charged with sex trafficking and racketeering in mid-September. Since September Diddy has been jailed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, as he awaits trial.

Although he’s attempted three times to be released on bail, he’s been denied each time. Additionally, since Diddy has been locked up, more than 100 sexual abuse allegations against him have surfaced. Diddy has vehemently denied all charges and allegations against him. The hip-hop icon’s sex trafficking trial is scheduled to begin in 2025.
