Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has issued a statement from jail in which he denies all allegations made against him in a book said to be written by his late ex-girlfriend Kim Porter
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has expressed his outrage over an alleged memoir of Kim Porter, his late ex-girlfriend.
The supposed collection of diary entries, titled “Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side…” was made available on Amazon a week prior to Diddy’s recent arrest at age 54. The renowned rapper was taken into custody last week on charges including racketeering and sex trafficking, all of which he has vehemently denied, pleading not guilty.
Porter, who passed away at 47 in 2018, had an on-and-off relationship with Diddy starting in 1994, and they share three children: Christian, 26, and 17-year-old twins Jessie James and D’Lila. Earlier this month, LA-based publisher and producer Chris Todd, using the alias Jamal T Millwood, released what is claimed to be Porter’s memoir.
On Tuesday, while still in custody, Diddy’s legal team issued a statement on his behalf, denouncing the book as “offensive” and “shameless.” Erica Wolf, the attorney, stated: “The Kim Porter ‘memoir’ is fake. It is also offensive a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy. Chris Todd has no respect for Ms. Porter or her family, who deserve better. Unlike the fabrications in his sickening ‘memoir’, it is an established fact that Ms. Porter died of natural causes. May she rest in peace,” reports the Mirror.
Diddy and Porter’s children also condemned the book, issuing a statement on Tuesday: “We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, as well as about our mom’s tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out.”
They firmly refuted the notion that their mother penned a memoir and expressed how her death deeply affected them. Dispelling any rumors about the circumstances of her demise, the children’s statement emphasized: “Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother.”
“She was our world, and nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established,” the statement continued. “There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process, and we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day.”
The music tycoon was arrested by Homeland Security Investigations agents on September 16 and indicted the next day on grave charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution, before being incarcerated. Despite his not-guilty plea, he has been refused bail twice.
