Selena Gomez Opens Up About Prioritizing Her Mental Health by Building in ‘Moments’ with Loved Ones (Exclusive)
Gomez, who’s been open about her lupus and bipolar disorder diagnoses, founded the Rare Impact Fund to support “organizations increasing access to youth mental health services and education globally,” per the organization’s website.
Launched in 2020 as the philanthropic arm of her Rare Beauty brand, 1% of all sales from the cosmetics line are donated to the Rare Impact Fund.
In October, the Emilia Pérez star spoke to PEOPLE about her go-to practices to protect her mental health. “Try not to isolate,” she said at the time.

“I think it’s important to have moments alone,” explained Gomez. “But when you isolate, sometimes those feelings can just stay bottled up.”
She encouraged fans to “find one person to trust and tell your heart to” and ensure “you can actually trust them with that information.”
