The truth, it turns out, is neither as exciting nor salacious as all that. Girl just likes to boogie.
Shortly after the video of Gomez and Ramírez dancing together was posted, and then deleted, by Gomez’s BFF Connar Franklin, the actor herself posted, and then deleted, an Instagram Story of herself with Ramírez at a different event, writing, “omg how dare I dance with my bestie,” and adding a “shocked face” emoji. Blessedly, BuzzFeed captured a screengrab of the post, so you can see the evidence here.
“He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life,” she added. “He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.” Well, her bestie besides Ramírez. “Best friend” isn’t a person, it’s a tier.
In a similar mushy photo dump for Blanco’s birthday in March, Selena Gomez wrote in the caption, “Your emotional endurance, positive disposition, unbelievable talent (that blows me away), undeniable humor and loving, kind heart absolutely kill me. I love you.”
This ain’t the town from Footloose; dancing is neither a sin nor a crime. But you know what is really annoying? People posting, then immediately deleting things. You’re making my job harder. My job wasn’t that hard to start, so it’s okay, but still, everyone should know it doesn’t stop the story from getting out there. The internet is forever.
