Selena Gomez addresses rumours after a video of her dancing closely with co-star Edgar Ramirez went viral, with fans speculating on her relationship status with boyfriend Benny Blanco. Gomez dismissed the rumours on TikTok, clarifying Ramirez is just a friend. This occurs amid speculation of Gomez and Blanco’s secret engagement and her film ‘Emilia Perez’ gaining Oscar buzz.

Selena Gomez has spoken out after facing criticism over a viral video showing her dancing with her ‘Emilia Perez’ co-star Edgar Ramirez.

The singer, who teased boyfriend Benny Blanco with a video of herself dirty dancing at a Sabrina Carpenter concert, left many surprised when a video showed her dancing closely with her co-star.

In a now-deleted video shared by Gomez’s friend, the group can seen enjoying the show, dancing and singing along to Carpenter’s hit ‘Espresso”

In the clip, Ramirez is seen dancing closely behind Gomez with his arms around her waist as they both smile for the camera. The video quickly went viral, leading fans to question the nature of Gomez’s relationship with her co-star and whether she was still dating Blanco.

Responding to the speculation, Gomez took to TikTok to set the record straight saying, “Omg how dare I dance with my bestie?” She further dismissed the rumours by reposting a fan-edited video showing her and Ramirez dancing together at a Beyonce concert.

Gomez and Blanco have been in a relationship for over 2 years and confirmed their romance in December 2023 after months of speculation. The two also made a couple’s appearance at the recent Emmy Awards last month, where the actress was nominated for her web series’ Only Murders In The building’.

The movie won two major awards at the Cannes Film Festival and earned rave reviews from critics. The Spanish- language film earned one of Cannes’ longest standing ovations and went on to win the Jury Prize, on top of the Best Actress prize for the ensemble cast, including Karla Sofia Gascon, Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez and Adriana Paz.
