On Dec 10, the judges and the audienceâs votes will decide who will win season 26 of the show and take home a cash prize of $100,000 with a record deal.
Last night began with a special appearance by coach Snoopâs friend, Martha Stewart. The episode kicked off with Marthaâs constructive criticism of the set and helping the coaches with their overall look. Soon after, the contestants went on stage to give their first performances of The Voice finale.
Shyeâs Performance in Round 1 of The Voice Live Finale Part 1
Shye from Team BublĂ© got on stage to give her first finale performance of season 26. She decided to take a chance with Joan Osborneâs One of Us. As Shye wrapped up her performance, Reba took over the mic,
âI have been your biggest fan, I love your voice, it is wonderful and those negative thoughts, please donât listen to them. When they start even opening their mouth, you silence them. You donât need to even listen to them. Youâre great, youâve got a god-given voice and you continueâŠplease continue using it. I love it.â
Right after Reba, Shyeâs mentor teases her about her struggle with the microphone during the performance,
âYour voice is so good that even your microphone stand was intimated by you. You were trying to get it out, it was like NO. Let me tell you never did that before thatâs going to happen your whole life. Coz your whole life, this is what youâre going to do because youâre so blessed with that voice. Iâm so proud of you and I love you.â
For her final performance on The Voice, Shye chose to sing Harry Stylesâ Falling. Her mentor, coach Michael BublĂ©, called her âthe truth.â
Shyeâs performance was so extraordinary that it inspired Snoop Dogg to unofficially offer her a record deal. âYou are exceptional at singing,â he said. âI canât wait to see you make a real record in 2025, hopefully with my labelâ.
The Voice & Shyeâs Route to Success
For the 18-year-old and many others, being on The Voice is a life-changing opportunity. However, for Shye, it means all the more given the trials and tribulations life has offered her. In 2010, Shyeâs mother suffered a life-altering injury leaving Shye to be raised by her siblings, community members, and music teachers. It was through this hardship that Shye created a profound and therapeutic relationship with music.
Shyeâs relationship with music is so sincerely intense that she skipped her high school graduation to perform during the blind audition round. The decision has paid off immensely, as Shye is one of the final contestants in season 26 of The Voice.
