During a show in Milwaukee, WI over the weekend, Jelly Roll fulfilled a 12-year-old fan’s request to help sing his and Brantley Gilbert’s duet, “Son Of The Dirty South.” Although inviting a fan on stage can be a hit-or-miss moment in a set, the country star was more than pleased with the outcome of this performance.

The fan named Brady recently shared a video via social media, revealing the moment he was asked to join Jelly Roll on stage. As he later explained to Music Mayhem, this opportunity took a bit of effort on his end prior to the show.

Memorable Moment

It began when he and his dad had gotten VIP tickets to the Friday night show at American Family Insurance Amphitheater, which in turn gave him the opportunity to connect with Jelly Roll’s DJ, DJ Chill, and his drummer, Cody Ash. Brady wasted no time as he showed the band members clips of him rapping on social media and then proceeded to ask to sing “Son of the Dirty South” with Jelly Roll.

The next step he took was showing up to the concert with a sign he had made that read, “Can I sing ‘Son Of The Dirty South’ with you please?” Jelly Roll spotted Brady’s sign amid the packed crowd and asked his crew to get the fan in-ear monitors before delivering the hard-hitting track.

As they traded off singing and rapping with Brady taking over Gilbert’s verses on the song, the crowd along with Jelly Roll gained more and more excitement in seeing the fan claim the stage.

“Incredible”

Before making his way back into the crowd, the “Need A Favor” singer hugged Brady and prompted him to introduce himself to the crowd. After sharing his name and age, he praised Jelly Roll for supporting him through his budding music career.

Jelly Roll then told the crowd, “I just want y’all to know it doesn’t always go that well. That was incredible. That absolutely blew my fuc**ng mind, to be honest. If I had that talent when I was 12 years old I wouldn’t have went to prison. It’s going to be hard to follow that. We should’ve saved him for last.”

The memorable moment with Jelly Roll was captured on video and shared to Brady’s Instagram page.

With great appreciation, Brady wrote, “Thank you so much @jellyroll615 and crew for sharing your stage with me. Milwaukee you were awesome tonight!”

Watch

To top things off, Brady also got to meet Jelly Roll backstage and take a few photos together.

“It was a great experience,” Brady said. “It was really fun and energetic.”

While for many this may seem like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, that’s not necessarily the case for Brady as it was actually the second time he had been welcomed on stage to sing “Son Of The Dirty South.”

Another Memorable Night

The first came earlier in the month when he joined Brantley Gilbert on stage to sing Jelly Roll’s verse on the song. Prior to Gilbert’s opening slot on Nickelback’s tour, Brady and his dad got to join an intimate Q&A session and performance that was offered only to those who purchased the VIP tickets. Brady took this as a chance to ask Gilbert if he could help sing the same song with him.

It appears that the “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do” singer was so impressed by the bold request that he not only agreed but also invited Brady and his dad to hang out with him backstage before the show.
