A 11 year old cancer survivor joins America’s Got Talent. It is a variety show that attracts performers to showcase their talent in acting, singing, dancing, comedy, magic, and more. Each participant is eager to secure a place in the live episodes of each season by impressing a panel of judges such as  Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Julianne Hough, and Gabrielle Union.

In addition, the audience had the chance to learn the stories behind those talented performers as they strive to make it to the finale. Lucky performers win a life-changing $1 million prize and have the chance to attract the hearts of their viewers.

Tyler the Cancer Survivor

At the age of four, Tyler Butler-Figueroa was diagnosed with leukemia and after undergoing chemotherapy his hair started to fall out. That was when his classmates started to bully him. Battling with cancer at the same dealing with bullies are reasons to break a person but how did he survive?

He does not want to be recognized as a kid with cancer. Instead, he wants to be recognized as the kid with the violin. He started playing the violin at the age of seven. He also shared that he would practice playing his violin in his bedroom and the more he does, the more he gets better. He also said:

“When I play the violin, it helps me forget the bad stuff.”

Tyler also joined America’s Got Talent. As he stepped on the stage, had been interviewed by the judges and started playing his violin, the 11-year-old boy, blew the minds of his listeners. Judges looked stunned throughout his entire performance and when he was asked what he’s feeling after the performance, Tyler answered:

“I’m feeling very proud of myself.”

Tyler has proven that there is a brighter light after dealing with darkness. His bright future began when Cowell gave him the ultimate golden buzzer, that every performer is dreaming to get.

Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)

This is the song performed by Tyler on America’s Got Talent. “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” is also recorded by an American artist, Kelly Clarkson. It was released in January 2012, as a single from Clarkson’s 5th album, Stronger. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 most played songs for three weeks, surpassing all the hit songs of Clarkson.

Her version became one of the best selling singles of all time. It also accumulated three Grammy Awards nominations and World Music Award nomination.
