Last night, Carrie Underwood closed out a weekend of country music in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with a headlining set at Carolina Country Music Fest.

The country superstar of course ran through hits like “Jesus Take The Wheel,” “Good Girl” and more, but what looked like easily the best part of the night and weekend came when Carrie performed her fan-favorite hit “Before He Cheats.”

Of course, the song was included on Carrie’s debut studio album Some Hearts, and would go on to become a massive crossover hit and a #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for five straight weeks, and even a top ten hit on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 charts.

Written by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins, it actually started out as a song for Gretchen Wilson, but ultimately, that didn’t work out. But I literally couldn’t imagine anyone but Carrie singing this song, and obviously it all worked out the way it was supposed to…

As she took the stage for her very last song, the skies opened up and it was a torrential downpour with rain coming down in sheets.

But of course it didn’t stop Carrie, who delivered what I can only describe as an epic performance with fans screaming along to every single word. There’s just something about moments like this and live music that are simply magical.

But Carrie shared the best video of all this morning, where you can really see how much it was raining and all the thousands of screaming fans singing back to her… and it’s actually unfair how she looks that incredible with soaking wet hair, but I digress…

She’s a total pro, and I’m sure that’s a moment fans in attendance will remember forever.
