Kelsea Ballerini consistently makes an effort to connect with her audience while on stage. During a stop in Columbus, OH on March 8, as part of her headlining HEARTFIRST Tour, Ballerini shared an extra special moment with one fan in particular.
In the midst of singing “Love Me Like You Mean It,” Ballerini spotted 3-year-old JoJo in the front row wearing a matching bright yellow dress and rhinestone booties. The country star crouched down, gave the little girl a wave and calmly signaled for her to join her on stage. The crowd cheered as Ballerini took JoJo’s hand and carefully danced alongside her in an attempt to make her appear more comfortable.
The heartfelt moment was captured and shared on TikTok. The account that shared the video appears to be operated by her mom, Samie.

In the comments, some took note of the fact that JoJo’s facial expression didn’t match the level of excitement she must have been feeling inside, but the owner of the
original video assured the viewers that this was in fact a dream come true moment for her.
They wrote, “She loves her, she was just super overwhelmed. She’s 3!”
In a previous video shared to the social media platform by the same account, it was clear that JoJo had been preparing for that very moment. The clip showed her in another bright yellow dress with a blonde wig singing Ballerini’s “Heartfirst.” She even held her mic out, mimicking how the female songstress lets the audience take over singing the song for a few seconds.
“Three-year-old JoJo is beyond obsessed with Kelsea Ballerini, hence the Halloween costume,” the caption read. “Just wait til Trick-or-Treat when she adds the blue glitter, eyeshadow, butterfly guitar and bejeweled boots!”
A Kelsea Ballerini fan account later shared a clip of the same moment. This clip was filmed by another audience member from that night. At the end of this video, the “I Quit Drinking” singer can be seen posing with JoJo before sending her back into the crowd.
Ballerini kicked off the second leg of her HEARTFIRST Tour on March 6 in Toronto, ON. As part of this exclusive run, Kelsea will visit cities throughout the Midwest and East Coast, closing out on March 18th at Stage AE in Pittsburgh, PA.
This trek picked up right where she left off on the 2022 fan-favorite HEARTFIRST tour last fall. The tour is named after a track on her critically acclaimed album, SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

One day before hitting the road for her current tour, the multiple GRAMMY® nominee and Country Music Association Award winner appeared on the coveted, Saturday Night Live, for a two-song performance.
Introduced by host Super Bowl winner Travis Kelce, Ballerini celebrated the release of her deeply personal Rolling Up the Welcome Mat EP and self-directed short film by singing her new questioning track, “Blindsided” at Rockefeller Center’s Studio 8H. Along with her stunning vocals, the setting added to the sincerity of the song with a backdrop that featured an eerie shadow figure.
“It was such a big moment,” Kelsea Ballerini explained. “We wanted to add an element that made the song and the performance more. When we talked about what the song was about, all the pieces of doubt and realizing what was going on, the shadow seemed to be the right thing.”
