Lainey Wilson delivered one of the performances of the night at the 2024 ACM Awards in Frisco, Texas, with the Bell Bottom Country artist kicking off the ceremony with a brief snippet of ‘God Blessed Texas’ and a live debut of ‘Hang Tight Honey’.

The lively, uptempo track, which is set to feature on the Louisiana hitmaker’s hotly anticipated forthcoming album, Whirlwind, arrived on streaming platforms on May 12th.

After delivering a playful rendition of Little Texas’ ‘God Blessed Texas’, Lainey Wilson made her way to the main stage and even ditched her trademark cowboy hat as she launched into ‘Hang Tight Honey’ alongside a row of backing singers.

Although the studio version carries Lainey Wilson’s signature swagger and energy, her ACM rendition of the jubilant track was packed with an additional sense of vigour and dynamism, with Lainey visibly excited to have new music out at long last.

‘Hang Tight Honey’ will be joined by ‘Country’s Cool Again’ on Lainey’s new record, which drops on August 23rd, with the rest of the 14-song tracklist still under wraps for now.

With the ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ singer-songwriter’s enchanting ACM Awards performance, Lainey Wilson continues to build the momentum as the Whirlwind rollout picks up pace and Lainey cements her position atop the country music world.

Other performers on the packed 2024 ACM Awards line-up included Lainey’s ‘Save Me’ collaborator, Jelly Roll, Thomas Rhett, Post Malone, Cody Johnson and more. The star-studded ceremony returned to the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas for the second year in a row, with Reba McEntire leading proceedings for the 17th time.
