REASON Boxer “better” than Mike Tyson dies at age 35, after asking Jake Paul to fight

Paul Bamba, the British cruiserweight boxing champion, has died at the age of 35, just days after winning the title. The news has shocked the sports world as Bamba was considered the best boxer of his generation, having broken Mike Tyson’s record for most knockouts in a year.

However, Paul Bamba’s death is believed to have been caused by severe head injuries he suffered during the title fight. In addition, the medical team’s negligence in assessing and treating the injury led to his health condition deteriorating rapidly, leading to a heartbreaking end.

Bamba, with a record of 19-3, defeated Rogelio Medina to win the title last weekend. He recorded 14 knockouts in a year, an unprecedented record in history. After the final fight, he strongly challenged Jake Paul: “Jake, if you want, come here and fight. I have worked hard to achieve everything. You said you were serious about boxing, but you were not really worthy in this sport”.

Bamba is famous not only for his talent but also for his fierce spirit, fighting non-stop every month in 2024, except September. He was the first boxer signed to music star NE-YO’s management company, and maintained a close friendship with the artist.

In a joint statement, Bamba and NE-YO’s families expressed: “Paul was not only a champion with strong ambition, but also an inspirational person with extraordinary will. His departure is a great loss to all of us”.

Jake Paul, who was challenged by Bamba after his win over Medina, led the condolences: “RIP Paul Bamba”.

A series of fans expressed their regret at the sudden departure: “So unexpected and heartbreaking. Rest in peace, Paul”.

Bamba was scheduled to fight Tommy Fury in November 2022, but the fight was canceled due to a weight dispute. Although he has not had the opportunity to face big names like Jake Paul or Fury, his career is still a symbol of effort and determination.

Paul Bamba is gone, but his journey of overcoming all limits will continue to inspire generations of young fighters.
