The singer’s mum Marie Keating tragically passed away from breast cancer at the age of 51.
Following their mother’s death in 1998, the Keating family set up the Marie Keating Foundation.
The family promised to provide the people of Ireland with vital information, advice and support on the signs and symptoms of cancer and help to prevent cancer or detect it at its earliest stages.
The Marie Keating Foundation was established in her memory and with this central ambition in mind.

Today, the Marie Keating Foundation are one of the leading voices in Ireland for cancer prevention, awareness and support.
Speaking to Ronan, Kielty said: “I also want to talk to you about 25 years of your mum’s charity – the Marie Keating Foundation.
“I mean that has achieved so much over the years.”
The singer said: “It’s been phenomenal. Sadly we had to set it up in the first place, losing mam is still very tough for all of us as a family.
“But to think that her name, her legacy has gone on like it has here in this country for 25 years, it wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t for my sister Linda.”
As Ronan’s sister Linda joined the interview, Patrick asked: “What do you think your mum would be more proud of, what you have done in music, or what you’ve done here?”
Ronan was quick to respond: “It’s what this woman here has done, more than anything else.”
Kielty then played an old clip of Gay Byrne interviewing Marie on the show.
In the throwback video, Marie spoke about how she goes to mass every morning to keep Ronan safe.
Ronan fought back tears after the clip and said: “I’m not crying, you’re crying – that kills me man.”
The siblings also lost their brother Ciaran last summer, following a fatal car crash in Mayo
Asking how they were doing following the tragedy, Ronan said: “We’re sticking together as a family – as best we can. Yeah, it’s been a tough one.”
‘EMOTIONAL’
The Boyzone star then put on a beautiful performance as he sang This Is Your Song.
