Reba McEntire’s always got a few surprises in store!

The country icon took to the CMAs stage on Wednesday night wearing a dramatic feather-adorned lilac robe as she started singing her 1990 hit song “Fancy.”

Fans who know the lyrics well might’ve known what was about to come next: “We didn’t have money for food or rent / To say the least we were hard-pressed / Then Mama spent every last penny we had / To buy me a dancin’ dress.”

It didn’t take long before Reba was shedding the robe for her own dancin’ dress, a flowing, sleeveless red V-neck number paired with red high heels. It was a fun enough switch on its own, but that was the first, not the last, of Reba’s quick-changes.

As the song progressed, Reba gained in momentum, eventually tearing off her red dress to reveal a strappy sequined jumpsuit as the audience went wild. It was a well-deserved diva moment for one of country’s most accomplished women of all time.

Among those who loved the performance was none other than Garth Brooks, who was caught on camera exclaiming, “That was f–king awesome!”

Although Reba had the most exciting outfit changes of the night, other performances created plenty of buzz of their own. An undisputed fan-favorite was the group rendition of Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush,” which featured a solo from this year’s winner for New Artist of the Year, Ashley McBryde.
