Floyd Mayweather criticizes Jake Paul’s career

Since entering professional boxing, Jake Paul has faced a lot of criticism, mainly due to the opponents he has faced. ‘The Problem Child’ made the situation worse last November when he fought Mike Tyson in a highly controversial match, due to the huge age gap with Tyson. Despite the criticism surrounding that record-breaking fight, Tyson and Paul earned a huge amount of money, helping to ease the 58-year-old’s disappointment at losing the “grandfather-grandson” point.

However, boxing saviour Turki Alalshikh has offered Canelo an exclusive deal to prevent a fight with Paul, who Alalshikh has previously criticised.

With the 28-year-old wondering who his next opponent will be, he has turned his attention to a fight with one of the sport’s biggest stars, Floyd Mayweather. Earlier this week, Mayweather said on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon that a fight with Paul would be “too easy”.

Floyd Mayweather doesn’t believe a fight between him and Jake Paul would be competitive. Jake Paul has made a name for himself in the boxing world, but Floyd Mayweather is not impressed with his junior.

“Me and Logan (Paul) did an exhibition match, and that’s why he went to WWE because he just wanted to hug me all night,” Mayweather said of his 2021 exhibition match with Logan Paul. “Fighting Jake Paul, it’s easy. Too easy. At 48 years old, too easy,” Mayweather continued.

Of course, in typical Paul fashion, he didn’t just sit back and listen to “Money” Mayweather’s criticism, but fired back at the star.

“You’re worthless. Deji gave you a black eye in an event with only 4,000 people. I’ll knock you out in two rounds and you’re not Mike Tyson,” Paul responded on X.

Since retiring from professional boxing after knocking out Conor McGregor in the 10th round of their historic fight, Mayweather has been involved in a number of exhibition fights, earning a lot of money. With Paul’s growing popularity and Mayweather’s tendency to stick to big fights, it wouldn’t be surprising if a Paul-Mayweather fight were to take place in 2025.

The war of words between Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather has and will continue to heat up the boxing world. While Mayweather has been dismissive of Paul’s abilities and said that a fight between them would be “too easy” for his level, Jake Paul has confidently declared that he would knock Mayweather out in 2 rounds.
