Diane von Furstenberg suffered a bad fall that left her with a big black-and-blue mark on her left eye.
“Upon arrival in LA, I fell on the pavement and hit my forehead !” the 78-year-old fashion designer captioned via Instagram Tuesday a series of selfies that showcased the shiner.
Von Furstenberg appeared make-up free in the images with a serious expression on her face.
“Does not look good for sure but grateful nothing more serious !!!” she added in her caption.

“I am owning it, applying lots of arnica gel and happy it was not worse !! Owning it is the secret of survival !”
The style icon did not divulge further details about her accident, but told Page Six, “I was lucky it was not worse … just looks bad! It’s life! All good!”
A source also told us, “She fell on the street in front of her daughter’s house and is fine. She is just very bruised. She is someone who posts daily and owning a fall is part of life.”

An individual who claimed to have worked for the DVF brand said he could “testify” to the designer’s “strength and resilience” and wished her a “speedy recovery.”

Von Furstenberg added of her swimsuit mirror selfies during the interview, “I have a tendency to think that, at least in my case, when I look at myself in the mirror, I find my strength there.”
