Miranda LambertJon Randall and Jack Ingram just released a new acoustic performance video of “Ghost,” a song from their 2021 collaborative record.

It was one of my favorite’s from the album, and though Miranda recently released her 8th solo studio album in Palomino, I’m always happy to get some never-before-seen stuff from these three.

Of course, this video isn’t all that different from the album version as it was a collection of acoustic, lo-fi recordings from their time in Marfa, Texas, and it still cuts just as deep.

I will never get over how ruthless and seething the opening verses are:

“I burned your Levi’s and your pearl snap shirts
Ashes to ashes and dirt to dirt
Buried our love in a deep dark hole
Now you’re just a ghost

If you’re such a poet, write an epitaph
You and I both know you ain’t comin’ back

I sure loved you but I let you go
Now you’re just a ghost
Honey, now you’re just a ghost”

And coupled with Miranda’s sassy twang?

It doesn’t get much better than that…
