This week on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly Clarkson and her band got into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as different characters from the movie, “Beetlejuice.” Her guests, Reba McEntire and her boyfriend Rex Linn also joined in on the fun with their epic looks.
Before the couple made their way to the stage, Clarkson revealed her uncanny transformation into Beetlejuice himself. From the iconic black and white striped suit, the dirty undershirt, green hair and even rotten teeth, the superstar didn’t miss a single step in recreating the grotesque character.
“What’s up Raya? New profile pic,” Clarkson joked while showing off her ensemble to the camera.
The show’s set took viewers right inside the model city from the movie, setting the perfect background for her scary Kellyoke performance of Harry Belafonte’s “Day-O,” the tune that has become synonymous with the movie as a result of the hilarious dinner scene.
The art team made sure to include aspects from both the original film and the 2024 release, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” including his grave, the office of the undead, baby Beetlejuice and more.

Then it was time for McEntire and Linn to show off their costumes. Linn instantly got into character as he made his way to the stage dressed as Danny DeVito’s cameo of the janitor. In the newest movie. He sported a dirty janitor’s uniform, his skin was painted blue and a green substance appeared to be oozing under his mouth. He limped his way over to the couch where McEntire was waiting for him as Catherine O’Hara’s character in both movies, Delia. Seeing as how she already had the red hair, all the country star needed was a black dress and a few accessories.
Linn went in for a smooch, but the “I Can’t” singer quickly turned him away due to his “gross” appearance.
“I haven’t seen this yet,” McEntire said looking to Linn, who responded, “I haven’t either. how do I Look?” This earned a roar of cheers from the live audience.

After discussing his love for the Halloween film, Linn admitted that he “loves” to scare people, so this costume and setting was right up his alley. However, he joked that McEntire is not an easy scare, despite his attempts.
“I just love to scare people to see how they react, but this woman right here, there’s something wrong with her,” Linn said of his other half. “There have been times where I have laid and waited for her, like one night we were at the ranch and I decided I was going to grab her ankle when she cleans up the kitchen. It was 9/9:30 at night, she stayed in the damn kitchen for 30 minutes. I was on the ground in the dark waiting. Then she turns out the lights, walks by me and I grabbed her ankle and screamed as loud as I could. She just looked down and she goes ‘what are you doing down there?’”
“After 30 minutes, and I was very angry,” he added.
The pair are currently co-stars in Reba McEntire’s new sitcom, Happy’s Place, which premiered on NBC on Friday, October 18. In the show, the Oklahoma native plays Bobbie, whose world gets flipped upside down after the death of her father. Not only does she inherit his bar, but she learns she has a half-sister who becomes co-owner of the establishment.
The lovebirds aren’t dating within the show, but Linn does play the very important role of the tavern’s short-order cook named Emmett. While he tries to keep to himself in the kitchen, he ends up being the person that everyone wants to come to with their problems. McEntire and Linn have also worked together on a number of other projects over the years, including TV shows like Big Sky and Young Sheldon.
