Having a love for classic groups like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, and the Eagles, Wallen eventually explored music when he was gifted a guitar by his father. After suffering an injury during college baseball, the singer decided to explore a career in music. And jumping forward a few years, Wallen holds a special spot in country music as he recorded songs like “Wasted on You.” But besides expanding his own career, the rising star once paid tribute to the Eagles when he performed “Take it Easy.”

Appearing on The Bobby Bones Show as part of the St. Jude Radiothon, Wallen discussed his life in the spotlight. He even performed his song “Chasin’ You.” But for fans, they were left shocked when he covered “Take it Easy.”

Looking at the comment section, fans praised the singer for his voice, writing, “Wow. I love the rasp in his voice. This guy has something special going. I predict big things happening in this young man’s career. Great cover too btw.” Another comment included, “I need a Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs joint triple album. While thrilled at what he accomplished over the years, Wallen once recalled his time on The Voice. Although a star now, he was once nothing more than a contestant trying to make a name for himself. And according to Wallen, he was glad he didn’t win. He explained, “I didn’t even know what The Voice was. That whole experience kind of kick-started me a little bit.” He added, “They wanted me to sing pop music, and I wanted to sing country music,” he says. “But it was a big first step — I guess that’s the first time in my life where I realized that maybe I actually have a shot at this.”

Eventually signing with a label, Wallen insisted his exit from The Voice worked out. “I’m thankful for that time. I’m thankful for how it all turned out. And honestly, I’m thankful that I didn’t win because it gave me a chance to take a couple years after that show and really figure out who I was as an artist and get the right team around me. When I got there, I had no clue what I was doing.”
