Wheel of Fortune bosses are eager to lock Ryan Seacrest down into a binding contract, but he allegedly isn’t agreeing to it.
“They see Ryan as the future, but Ryan’s not the kind of guy to lock in and sign here,” a source told the publication. “He wants freedom and control and refuses to be pigeon-holed, and his obstinate stance is driving bosses crazy.”
The source maintains that the network bigwigs worry his other endeavors are leaving him stretched too thin though, hence why they want him to commit more exclusively to them.
Showrunners allegedly have decided “It’s okay he hosts American Idol…but they want him to scale down his other endeavors and tie him up in a binding contract.”
Among his other endeavors, he also hosts Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, and a radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
He is also an investor and producer behind several enterprises as well.
However, an attempt to bind him to a restrictive contract may backfire on his bosses.
Seacrest only initially signed a two-year contract with the show.
