Megan Thee Stallion TOPS the Billboard Hot 100 chart with diss track Hiss amid heated feud with fellow rapper Nicki Minaj
Megan Thee Stallion debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her diss track, Hiss, marking her first solo single to top the chart.
The Savage hitmaker, 28 — who recently signed a ‘unique’ deal with Warner Music Group — celebrated the major milestone on Monday amid her heated feud with fellow rapper Nicki Minaj.
Megan — whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete — dropped both the clean and explicit version of the score-settling single on January 26.
The beauty previously topped the chart with her song Savage, which features Beyoncé, as well as with Cardi B‘s controversial single WAP, which Megan was featured on.
She took to her Instagram page to celebrate on Monday with a screenshot showing her single jumping to the top of the chart, and she gushed: ‘My first SOLO DEBUT #1.’

Fans speculated that certain lyrics in the song targeted Nicki Minaj, as Megan made possible references to the rapper’s husband Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender.
At one point, Megan raps: ‘These h***s don’t be mad at Megan, these h***s mad at Megan’s Law.’
Megan’s Law notably requires authorities in the United States to release information to the public regarding sex offenders.
Petty — whom Minaj married in 2019 — spent four years in prison after being convicted of the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995.
She also rapped: ‘I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start / B***h, you a p***y, never finna check me/ Every chance you get, bet your weak a** won’t address me…’
After the release of Hiss, Nicki retaliated with a diss track of her own titled Big Foot, in which she took aim at Megan.
‘Bad b***h she like six foot, I call her Big Foot / The b***h fell off, I said get up on your good foot,’ Minaj rapped, seemingly referencing when Megan was shot in the foot by Tory Lanez in 2020. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the crime.
Nicki further added fuel to the flames by sharing a photo of her manicured feet to social media. While Megan didn’t directly respond to the fellow artist, she did upload a photo of herself laughing.

Nicki Minaj mentions Megan Thee Stallion’s dead mother
Late last month on Instagram Live, per Billboard, Nicki continued to take part in the rift and also referenced to Megan’s late mother.
‘You bringing up 30-year-old tea from when this man was a 15-year-old child,’ she said, seemingly talking about her husband.
‘You bringing up 30-year-old tea cause no man will ever f***ing love you, and lying on your dead mother,’ she continued. Megan’s mother, Holly Thomas, passed away back in March 2019 after a battle with brain cancer.
Minaj also alleged that Megan had tried to force her to drink alcohol in the past while she was potentially pregnant. However, Megan has previously denied the claim.
In regard to the ongoing feud, a source recently told DailyMail.com: ‘I know that Nicki seems to be in the wrong right now because she went there, but she is unapologetic, and we are only seeing what they let the public see. Behind the scenes it is even worse.
‘Megan has formed an alliance with Cardi B to talk s*** about Nicki, but Nicki has been in the game much longer than both of them,’ they claimed.
‘Nicki told Megan she needs to sit down and respect those who set the path for her. Megan came for Nicki’s husband and brother and in the worst way. So, Nicki responded by taking it a level higher,’ the source added.
The insider also explained that this could possibly be only the beginning of the fight. ‘If Megan wants to keep this going, it is going to get extremely ugly — more so than it already is.’

‘Nicki knows her weaknesses and will play on all of them. If Megan thinks that Nicki’s beef with Cardi is bad it is a drop in the pool that she is about to drown Megan in.’
Before their friendship went awry, both artists had been close and collaborated in the past on the hit song Hot Girl Summer in 2019.
But in 2020, both Cardi B and Megan worked together on the popular track WAP – although Megan later revealed that she never reached out to Minaj to inform her about her collaboration with Cardi, whom she had previously feuded with.
While on 107.5 WGCI in Chicago in 2020, Megan said, ‘I didn’t feel like I had to call her first.
‘I mean, because at the end of the day, I’m still an artist and I should be free to work with whoever I want to work with. My personal relationship with anybody doesn’t affect what I choose to do as an artist.’
She added that her relationship with Cardi B ‘furthered’ after working together and added that her friendship with Nicki also hadn’t changed.
The following year, Minaj appeared to unfollow the rapper on Instagram, with Megan soon following suit.
Despite the feud, Megan has been focusing on releasing new music as well as preparing to drop her third studio album.
