Metallica’s Lars Ulrich surprised fans outside Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field over the weekend by asking them “Who’s playing tonight?”
The drummer was a passenger in a car taking him to the show, when he decided to roll down his window and quiz fans who were on their way to the venue.
It takes the fans a couple of seconds to recognise Ulrich, but they’re clearly thrilled when they realised who was speaking to them from the vehicle.

The band, who have just started the North American leg of their WorldWired tour in support of 10th album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, have also announced a list of cities where pop-up shops will appear selling Metallica merchandise.
Metallica say: “Stop by and visit… you just never know what, or who, you might see there!”
Although exact locations have still to be finalised, a list of dates and cities can be found below.
