Patrick Mahomes hit with cheap shot from Eli Manning in disparaging video about his championship rings
The Super Bowl winning quarterbacks have some “football” beef

Did you think we could have a normal day of NFL offseason without someone bringing up Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs? Think again.
Out of nowhere, retired New York Giants legend Eli Manning took his grievances to social media, posting a 12-second video challenging Patrick Mahomes over the true value of his championship ring collection.
Mahomes and Manning’s football beef
“Hey Mahomes,” Manning said with an intense look into the camera.
“You may have one more of these than me, but do you have one of these? I don’t think so.”
Indeed, Mahomes outnumbers Eli three Super Bowl rings to two.
Manning won both championships against Tom Brady‘s New England Patriots, which some may consider more impressive than Mahomes, who lost to Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they met in the Super Bowl.
Opinions aside, this beef was about a different “football.”
Manning is part owner of NJ/NY Gotham FC, the defending NWSL Champion who earned him the last ring he flexed on Mahomes in the spicy video.
Gotham is hosting Kansas City Current, the team that features Patrick and Brittany Mahomes as co-owners, in its home opener on Sunday, April 14th.
“We’ll see yall Sunday!” Mahomes responded on Twitter/X.
Supporting women’s sports
The Mahomes family was spotted at Kansas City‘s home opener against the Portland Thorns, as the Current cut the ribbon on CPKC Stadium. It is the first stadium specifically build for a professional women’s sports franchise, and was funded in part by Kansas City’s $500 million quarterback.
If Mahomes wants to silence Manning, he will have to hope KC can recapture its winning ways of the past. While KC Current is only in its fourth season and has not won Mahomes a ring, the previous professional women’s soccer team in the city, FC Kansas City, won the NWSL Championship in 2014 and 2015. FC KC was coached by former USWNT coach Vlatko Andinovski, who is back with the Current this year after stepping down from the National Team.
It’s good to see two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks of the past 20 years supporting women’s sports with their own personal rivalry.
After a weekend that saw Caitlin Clark shatter basketball viewership records and saw USWNT reach its best attendance in 25 years, the momentum just keeps on rising.
