WNBA star Angel Reese is living a dream lifestyle after enjoying her first year with the Chicago Sky. The power forward enjoyed a record-breaking season, despite her year being cut short due to a wrist injury.

The ‘Bayou Barbie’, 22, hit the most double-doubles ever for a rookie and set a WNBA record for rebounds per game. Reese is one of the top players leading the league’s massive rise in popularity, with the former NCAA champion boasting a vast audience on social media – 4.4million followers on Instagram, and 4.6m on TikTok with nearly 115m likes across her videos.

While WNBA salaries are modest compared to other top sports stars, Reese earns most of her money through endorsement deals with the likes of Reebok, Reese’s Pieces and Beats By Dre. Here’s a closer look at Reese’s glamorous off-court lifestyle.

Luxury apartment

Reese has confessed that her WNBA salary is not enough to cover the rent of her lavish £6,000-per-month ($8,000) apartment. The former LSU star’s annual wage stands at £56,407 ($73,439), around £16,000 short of the amount needed for a year’s rent at her Chicago flat. Instead, most of her money stems from lucrative sponsorships.

“Hating pays my bills, baby. I just hope you know the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all,” Reese said on Instagram earlier this month. “I don’t even think that pays one of my bills. Literally, I’m trying to think of my rent for where I stay at. I’m gonna do the math real quick. I don’t even know my salary.

“Yo, I’m living beyond my means,” she laughed. “No, my rent is more than that. It’s $8,000. I’m living beyond my means.”

In a rare insight, Reese shared a picture of her relaxing at home, accompanied by Louis Vuitton bags. Her aesthetic was clear, with a pink rug, cushions and fur plant joining the white sofa in the high-rise apartment.

New car

Having been selected as the seventh draft pick earlier this year, Reese celebrated her move to the Windy City by upgrading her Mercedes-Benz. The 22-year-old captioned her post: “’New City. New beginnings. New big body Barbie Benz”, as she showed off her new G-Wagon.

The car is popular among athletes and features a red leather interior with black rims. It has a starting price of $183,000 and replaced the car that Reese had gifted herself for her 21st birthday.

Her previous car was a Mercedes-Benz EQS-class 580, which she bought during her time in Louisiana. The starting price for her old Mercedes is $143,000.

NBA boyfriend dream

Reese was previously in a relationship with Florida State forward Cam’Ron Fletcher before she confirmed that the couple had split in March. However, given that she is six-foot-three, the WNBA All-Star believes her ideal boyfriend would be taller than her and feels her next partner could be an NBA player.

Discussing her requirements in a partner on her Unapologetically Angel podcast, Reese added. “Nah, he gotta be tall. Six-seven, six-eight. Yeah, NBA.”

The ‘Bayou Barbie’ averaged 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game for the Sky. While the WNBA will not get back underway until next year, Reese has agreed to take part in the new Unrivaled three-on-three basketball league, where players are expected to receive minimum six-figure salaries.
