Torres competed against Gabrielle Zabosky on Tuesday night’s Battles episode.
Reba McEntire has a few tricks up her sleeve!
On the Tuesday, Oct. 22 episode of The Voice, the country star stole Frankie Torres from Team Gwen during The Battles.
Torres put on an unforgettable performance of “Never Tear Us Apart” by INXS with fellow Team Gwen contestant Gabrielle Zabosky.
But when push came to shove, Stefani, 55, chose Zabosky to remain on her team — leaving Torres open to be taken by another coach.
Just as the singer finished saying goodbye and thanking the coaches for her experience on the show, McEntire, 69, pressed her steal button.
“I loved her singing. I did a little play there because I did say Gabrielle so you’d go with Gabrielle [and] I could have Frankie,” McEntire said to Stefani.
“Wow,” Stefani responded in shock.
The “I’m a Survivor” singer added, “Either way, I was gonna steal because I love your performance, your singing, everything about it.”
In an interview after the moment, McEntire said she loved Torres’s “tone,” “stage presence” and “voice.”
Meanwhile, Torres said she’s “so excited to work with Reba.”
“She was my first concert. Her and Kelly Clarkson. I went for Kelly and I stayed for Reba and it was amazing,” she said, as McEntire snuck up behind her.
“I can’t wait to go through songs with you,” McEntire said after giving her a big hug.
In a separate clip, fellow coach Michael Bublé told McEntire: “That was some last-minute stuff right there.”
“Really tricky,” she responded.
