NFL sideline reporter Erin Andrews shared a concerning health update on Tuesday, revealing she’s dealing with a pre-cancerous skin condition. The 46-year-old FOX Sports broadcaster opened up about her latest health battle during her podcast, Calm Down, with co-host Charissa Thompson.
Erin Andrews, fresh off covering Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans, explained that she developed a painful, crusty spot on her lip. Following a routine skin check, doctors identified the issue as a pre-skin cancer situation, prompting her to undergo a five-day topical treatment. Though she remains in good spirits, the experience has been unsettling.

During the podcast, Thompson made sure listeners understood the seriousness of Andrews’ condition. “For those of you that are new, Erin’s working through some… an issue on her upper lip, but it’s not what you think it is,” Thompson, 42, clarified.
Erin Andrews then confirmed the diagnosis, adding, “It’s a pre-skin cancer situation. I did a cream for five days on it.” She admitted that the screening process left her anxious. “I wanted to pass out in the middle of it because I’m so afraid they’re going to find something.”
Fans quickly rallied around Andrews, sending well wishes and support.
“Hoping for a quick recovery-skin health is no joke,” one fan wrote.
Another added, “Early detection is key- wishing her the best in this fight.”
Erin Andrews is no stranger to health challenges. She previously battled cervical cancer while navigating fertility struggles. Despite these obstacles, she has remained a professional force in the sports world. She and her husband, former NHL player Jarret Stoll, welcomed their son, Mack, via surrogate last year.
While this latest health scare isn’t considered serious, it’s a stark reminder of the importance of routine skin checks. Erin Andrews’ openness about her experience may encourage others to prioritize their health. As the NFL offseason begins, fans hope she recovers quickly and returns to the sidelines stronger than ever.
