Last month boxing legend Mike Tyson, aged 58, stepped into the ring with the much younger Jake Paul, 27, in an event streamed on Netflix.
This match-up stirred significant debate due to the age disparity and the nature of the bout itself.
Tyson started the fight with bursts of his classic intensity, but the effects of age were evident as the match wore on. He landed only 18 of 97 punches, contrasting sharply with Paul’s more active engagement, landing 78 of 278. The fight went the distance, with Paul securing a unanimous decision victory, scores being 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 in a drab affair.
But, recently when asked about ‘The Problem Child’s’ power Tyson credited him with possessing quite the dig.
He said: “Jake punches hard. My body hurt so bad.”
