Jake Paul‘s latest video in the lead up to the Mike Tyson fight might be his most controversial yet. The former YouTuber made the claim that he is the strongest heavyweight fighter in the world before attempting a 500-pound bench press without a spotter. You can watch the video to see him attempt the impressive feat, or you can watch it to see what everyone is really taking about: the size of Jake Paul’s stomach.
Jake Paul’s physique criticized in training video
The Problem Child is clearly bulking up in preparation for the November 15th fight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, but now there is some worry that his high-stakes training regimen has gone too far.
“Bro got pregnant before facing Iron Mike,” remarked one of the most-liked comments on his Instagram post, which Jake simply captioned: “Strongest boxer in existence.”
What is Jake Paul’s fighting weight?
Jake Paul’s gut stole all the headlines as fans grew concerned that he is taking the “heavyweight” division too literally. He has previously fought at 200 pounds in the cruiserweight division, narrowly making weight for his most recent fight against Mike Perry in July.
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson is sanctioned as a heavyweight fight, leaving no weight limit to both fighters’ final number at the weigh-in on November 14th. In his prime, Iron Mike Tyson fought at around 220 pounds in the heavyweight division.
El Gallo appears to have already surpassed that number, well on his way to the target of 240 pounds that he set for himself when the fight was first announced. However, viewers of the video did not hold back their criticism for his methods of becoming the “strongest boxer,” even suggesting his bench press was fake.
“No bar bend on a 180 kg lift… fake weights… nothing fake about the steroid belly though,” wrote a scathing reply to the video on X, formerly Twitter.
Throughout the year-long build up to this mega fight, Mike Tyson’s body has been the primary subject of concern. With less than two months until the weigh-in, Jake Paul’s video has given the story another twist.
