An old tweet posted by Deion Sanders about P Diddy has resurfaced on social media, which was sent before a $1million donation took place.
Sanders is one of a number of sports personalities to be known to the disgraced rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs. On September 16, Diddy was indicted on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. He vehemently denies those charges.
The following day, Diddy pled not guilty to the charges in a Manhattan Court. His lawyer has stated that Diddy will testify in his upcoming trial as he wants to defend himself. He denies all the charges and his attorney Marc Agnifilo insists he is “going to fight this to the end”.
Since Diddy’s arrest, those with connections to the musician have been placed under the spotlight, including Colorado Buffaloes coach Sanders.
One X user went through Sanders’ account and found a post from June 2017 praising Diddy. Coach Prime reshared a post from the disgraced artist’s social media account advertising his behind-the-scenes film titled ‘Can’t stop won’t stop’.
Sanders’ tweet from June 2017 read: “I Can’t wait to see this with my sons. Keep on doing you my brother. You challenge us to keep on keepin on. @diddy Much Love! #Truth”. The post was found and reposted by an account earlier this week.

When Sanders was the head coach at Jackson State, he publicly crossed paths with Diddy when he made good on his promise to make a major donation to the school. In June 2022, Diddy donated $1million to his alma mater, Howard University, and soon after made the same pledge for Jackson State.
It appears that one of the major reasons behind his charity to Jackson State was due to Sanders’ work there. “Before I leave, I want to donate $1 million dollars to Howard University,” Diddy said in a speech at the BET Awards, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. “Also, I’m going to drop another million dollars on Deion Sanders and Jackson State because we should play for us.”
Diddy’s pledge was confirmed to have been fulfilled by the school’s president Dr. Elayne Hayes-Anthony. “P Diddy, as our students call him, and as we probably know him as Sean Combs, has released $1 million to Jackson State for athletics,” Hayes-Anthony said. “And we are very, very pleased about that.”
Sanders spent two seasons as first-team coach at Jackson State before moving to his current job at the University of Colorado coaching the Buffaloes. He has not addressed any association to the rapper.
Mirror Sport US has contacted Colorado Buffaloes and Deion Sanders’ representatives for comment on this story.
