Jiří Procházka Congratulates Magomed Ankalaev on UFC 313, Gets Brutally Insulted in Response
If Jiří Procházka expected a respectful exchange with newly crowned UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Magomed Ankalaev, he was in for a rude awakening.
The former champion watched as his past opponent, Alex Pereira, stepped into the Octagon at UFC 313 in Las Vegas for his fourth title defense at 205 pounds.
After securing victories over Jamahal Hill, Procházka himself, and Khalil Rountree Jr. in 2024, “Poatan” had cemented his status as a dominant force in the division. But his biggest challenge yet came in the form of the well-rounded Ankalaev.
The Russian contender shocked Pereira and his massive fanbase with a commanding five-round performance, securing the belt via unanimous decision.
As praise and criticism flooded in following the fight, Procházka took to social media to offer his own thoughts, congratulating Ankalaev on his victory.
“Congrats to @AnkalaevM, beautiful pressure. Most people don’t like it, but you won the title for now,” Procházka wrote on X before turning his attention to Pereira. “@AlexPereiraUFC, last dance?”
While many saw Procházka’s post as a show of support for Ankalaev amid backlash over his fighting style, the new champion had no interest in accepting such praise from a rival.
“I think you are a fraud and so many guys deserve it more than you. You need to go win some fights,” Ankalaev fired back.
