Baltimore Ravens News

The Baltimore Ravens are in a winning window. Adding impact players in the 2025 NFL Draft will be another important step to staying in that window for years to come. Having Lamar Jackson at quarterback helps a lot, too.

No matter what – their pick in Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock draft is a notable one for the entire NFL, as well as the SEC.

Ravens select Aggies defensive lineman

27. Baltimore Ravens: Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M

Stewart just feels like a Raven to me. He’s big, explosive and disruptive. The production will come. — Daniel Jeremiah

This a bit later than you normally would see Stewart go in recent mock drafts. At times, he’s been in the top twelve overall selections. Here, he falls a bit, and Baltimore strikes.

It is a good fit for a Ravens team that values length on the defensive line, and he plays a different sort of game than their current pass rushers, like Odafe Oweh, David Ojabo, among others.

Stewart’s profile is unlike nearly every other one in the class due to his size and power. He moves very well for a player of his stature, although his collegiate production was limited at times.

The buzz around Texas A&M defensive lineman Shemar Stewart is very real, and it’s very understandable in a vacuum. At 6 ‘4 ¾” and 279 pounds, Stewart is body-beautiful with nearly 35 inch arms. He is how NFL evaluators draw up EDGE defenders on paper. Stewart is also very twitchy, and insanely powerful. When you look at him, you always wouldn’t expect for Stewart to have tremendous closing speed. That might be the rarest part of his athletic profile. — Ryan Roberts

Personally, grabbing Stewart here makes all the sense in the world to me for Baltimore. Some of their recent picks on the DL have not provided much upside, outside of Justin Madubuike.

The Philadelphia Eagles gave teams a blueprint on how to get after Patrick Mahomes in the postseason.

Accordingly, I would expect teams like Baltimore and the Buffalo Bills to smartly take some notes and address their defensive lines this offseason in an attempt to see a Super Bowl soon.
