‘The Bernie Mac Show’ star Camille Winbush claps back at critics after joining OnlyFans

Camille Winbush is fondly remembered for playing the role of Bernie Mac’s niece on the deceased actor and comedian’s hit eponymous sitcom. But she recently drew criticism after she joined OnlyFans – the online subscription service known for mostly hosting pornographic content that is created by sex workers.

However, Winbush, 34, is unfazed by the criticism as she recently clapped back at her naysayers in an interview with Comedy Hype, Complex reported. She also provided details about her financial status and the money she earned from The Bernie Mac Show.

“When people say, ‘Oh, those Bernie Mac checks must have dried up,’ I’m like, ‘From a job 20 years ago when I was a 12-year-old? Yeah.’ Like, duh,” the 34-year-old said.
Winbush also explained that though she still receives residual checks for featuring on the sitcom, that money gets “smaller and smaller every year.” “You’re not making the same amount that you were when the show was current, per episode,” she added. “Twenty years later, those checks are not sustainable for a living.”

Winbush continued: “If I can find a way to make enough to buy a home from the comfort and safety of my own living room, why wouldn’t I do that?”

The 34-year-old joined OnlyFans in 2021, and this is not the first time she has clapped back at her critics. Last year, Winbush took to X (formerly Twitter) to address people who trolled her and her The Bernie Mac Show co-star, Dee Dee Davis, after they opened OnlyFans accounts.

“The trolls are hungry again so here’s some food for thought—I’ve never been arrested, never been on drugs, don’t have any baby daddies, I pay all my taxes, I drink water, and mind the business that pays me,” she wrote at the time.

“If the most scandalous thing strangers can say about me is that I took some sexy pics as an adult and made a couple mil in less than 2yrs, I think I’m doing alright as a human in todays society,” she added.

Winbush in a previous post on Instagram also provided details about the kind of content she was going to share on OnlyFans. “Yes, you heard that right,” she said in her announcement.

“I have joined OF! But I’m doing it my way*- I’ll be saying the things I really want to say, singin’ & dancing, and sharing exclusive content. But don’t think it’s just for the men. I’m finally dropping the skin care routine, I’ll be doing regular live sessions with Q&A’s, special guests, and most importantly- I’ll be able to talk to and connect with you one on one.”
