ESPN analyst gives Dolphins a present that they perhaps could be in better position to get after NFL Combine

The Miami Dolphins got a close look at the best that the 2025 NFL Draft has to offer last weekend at the Combine in Indianapolis.  As such, they can start to whittle down prospects and build their draft board as they look to fill a number of holes on their roster this offseason.

One area where they need help is obviously on the offensive line, and there were a number of standouts who could help them there.

That said, there’s one player who hasn’t really been included in many mock drafts to the Dolphins because, well, he hasn’t been available when they’ve been on the clock at 13.

ESPN mock draft projects Dolphins to land LSU OL Will Campbell

However, ESPN draft analyst Jordan Reid put out a two-round mock draft, and he had the Dolphins taking Will Campbell with the 13th pick.  Here’s what Reid had to say about Campbell to the Dolphins.

The Dolphins have issues throughout their offensive line, with center being the only set spot. Starting guards Liam Eichenberg and Robert Jones are free agents, and Miami coach Mike McDaniel said that the team is operating under the notion that oft-injured tackle Terron Armstead will not return in 2025. The Dolphins need help up front, and Campbell would address a major need. He’s a polished technician with plenty of physicality. While he’d be a good tackle, he has the potential to be an A-level interior starter.

Campbell hadn’t been in play for the Dolphins in a number of mock drafts, having been snatched up by someone before Miami picked, often San Francisco at #11.

However, the standout performance of Missouri OL Armand Membou could have raised his stock enough to possibly push everyone down a notch on the pecking order for first-round offensive linemen.  Membou flashed incredible athleticism for his size (6’4″, 332 pounds) with a 4.91 40-yard dash with a 1.74 10-yard split, adding a 34″ vertical jump and 9’7″ broad jump.

Membou’s athleticism should no doubt have grabbed the attention of Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel, but it might have done that with teams in the top ten as well.  His positional versatility – he can also potentially play guard or tackle – will only help his candidacy as the first offensive lineman taken.  Reid had Membou going to Chicago with the tenth overall pick.

But hey, if that’s the case, that could potentially make Campbell an option at 13 for Miami.  And a versatile, powerful, and athletic player like Campbell would be a great fit for a rebuilding Dolphins offensive line with multiple starters to find.

And hey, Reid’s second round pick for the Dolphins would fill a strong need as well – safety. Notre Dame’s Xavier Watts had 13 interceptions the last two years for the Irish.  Miami is desperate to find more playmakers on the defense who could take the ball away, so Watts’ ball skills would fit that bill.

If this turned out to be the results of Miami’s first two draft picks next month, you’d have to think Miami fans would be giddy.
